VINA ERRAZURIZ, SENA 2015, ACONAGUA VALLEY
A collaborative venture between legendary Californian winemaker Robert Mondavi and Eduardo Chadwick of Chilean winery Errázuriz, with the ambition to create a Chilean icon Bordeaux blend wine.
They quickly realised the enormous potential of Chile's climate and pristine landscape to produce some of the highest quality wines in the world. It took four years of searching the Aconcagua Valley to find the perfect location to plant the vineyards of Seña: Ocoa, a cooler site in the mid-section of the valley 25 miles from the Pacific Ocean with a Mediterranean climate and protected by woodland and ravines, sustainable, organic viticulture was the aim from the beginning. A blend of historic Bordeaux varieties (Cabernets Sauvignon and Franc, Merlot, Malbec, Carmenere and Petit Verdot) with the proportion of each dependent on the vintage. The 2015 is 57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Carmenere, 12% Malbec with the others making up the rest, hand-harvested in the cool early morning before undergoing a double selection in the winery and aged for 22 months in barrels after fermentation.

Tasting notes
Smooth, rich and elegant with intense and complex aromas of red and black fruits such and notes of cedar, tobacco and black olives. The palate is full and smooth with great structure, complexity and depth with very fine tannins, balanced acidity and a very long, soft finish.
TEMPOS VEGA SICILIA ALION [2017 and 2018 vintages]
Alión is Vega Sicilia’s sister estate in Ribera del Duero. The two bodegas are just six miles apart, but Alión’s vineyards are to be found in several of the DO’s best locations. On these diverse soils, however, is planted a single variety: Tempranillo. This is handled gently in the winery, giving a naturally concentrated wine that is fruit-forward and accessible in youth – a great introduction to the Vega Sicilia interpretation of Ribera del Duero.
The soils are generally deep, with good drainage and are coarsely textured with an abundance of quartz gravel demonstrating their alluvial origins. Fermentation was carried out using wild yeast at controlled temperatures in wooden vats. The wine was then aged in 72% new French oak barrels, 18% used French oak barrels and 10% concrete tank for 12-14 months, followed by a minimum of 15 months in bottle before release.
Tasting notes
Prominent black and red fruit flavours give way to a savoury, earthy note with just a hint of toasty oak. The tannins are youthful but still juicy and well-rounded and the fine acidity brings the freshness and elegance we expect from this estate.

ABER FALLS INAUGURAL RELEASE SINGLE MALT WELSH WHISKY 46%, 70cl
This Inaugural Release Single Malt is one of only 2000 bottles made from Aber Falls' first mature casks. A mix of American Virgin Oak, Sherry and Orange wine casks has made a unique release setting the course for the distillery's future.
Rock filtered water from the famous Aber Falls is mixed with the finest Welsh ingredients. The whisky is distilled, aged and bottled at the distillery in Abergywngregyn, nestled between Snowdonia and the shores of the Menai Strait.
A range of specially selected wooden casks were been used to store the liquid for maturation, imparting flavour and depth into the whisky, while their expert distillers worked on combining these flavours to achieve the optimum quality and taste.
Tasting notes
With initial notes of tropical fruits, coconut, mango and banana, alongside scents of sweet hay and cut grass this exceptional single malt whisky has flavours of dark chocolate and golden syrup, influences of cream and vanilla with hints of pine.
