NEBBIOLO
Primarily grown in the Piedmont region in the very North-West of Italy, it is used in Barolo and Barbaresco wines. Nebbiolo comes from the Italian word for fog as the harvest takes place in late October when fog envelopes the vineyards.
The grapes give very high tannin light red wines when young but when aged (often for many years) lead to depper orange wines with notes of cherries, rose, violets, leather and truffles.
