Kadarka is the oldest historic vine variety cultivated in the Szekszárd winegrowing area, a difficult and delicate grape to grow due to it’s thin skin. A joyful light red wine from 100-year-old, organically-grown Kadarka vines so wizened they resemble bonsai trees, this wine has playful spicy fragrances and a distinct red fruit bouquet, a wine able to enchant anybody. Serve at 15-17 °C a little colder than most reds. Pair with fish, poultry or lamb. It's a tricky grape to grow and almost disappeared in Hungary, but examples like this show why it's quietly recovering ground. It has an inviting, ethereal aroma and lovely complexity with red berry, spice and forest fruit, a hint of cedar and a graceful lingering finish. Lovingly produced with pride by the Vida family.
