In an appellation often dominated by just two varieties, ‘Les Six’ is a new style of Cairanne which, due to the ancient varieties of Carignan Noir, Cinsault and Counoise included in the assemblage, is also a Cairanne whose heart holds dear the traditions of yesteryear. 2011 is the first vintage of ‘Les Six’ and is exuberantly and lusciously fruity: the six grape varieties each bring nuances of aromas and ripples of texture which fill the palate with wells of depth and propel the plump flavours to a finish which is warming, smooth and immediately appealing. Silky, peppery, elegant and very long on the palate, this is just such a lovely wine that oozes finesse and is perfumed with eau de Cairanne. Although young, it screams out 'drink me!!!'... and how can you resist?!
