The Hautes Côtes are becoming increasingly recognised as a good source of more reasonably priced Burgundy offering more complexity than generic Bourgogne Pinot Noir without the price tag of village wines. Pinot Noir grapes grow on sunny, west facing slopes of the Côtes de Beaune and winemaking is traditional with fermentation in large open wooden tanks using only the grape yeasts and ageing for at least 16 months in barrel. The wine is bright and fruit-forward with already some gamey complexity and nice balance.
