Josef’s parents started the winery in 1958, Pepi took over in 1985, began farming organically in 2005, from Burgenland near Lake Neusiedl, 60 ha, mostly in the Seewinkel community of Frauenkirchen, but also across the lake in Jois. Mineral rich stoney soil, 85% of his plantings are red grapes, 14-40 year old vines, hand harvested, Practicing biodynamic, 14 days on skins, fermented in steel, matured in used Austrian oak (2500lt) for about a year, vegan & vegetarian.
