In The Welsh Wind Palo Cortardo Edition 43% 70cl

In the Welsh Wind's award-winning Signature Style has been rested in Palo Cortado sherry casks, bringing richness and colour to a smooth oil-rich gin. Limited edition. 

To create this cask aged gin, the distillery has aged 400 litres of its Signature Style gin in Palo Cortado sherry casks. The resulting liquid is a beautifully rich bronze giving flavours of almonds, dried stone fruit and wood spice which perfectly complement the underlying warmth of the original gin’s botanical profile.

Palo Cortado is something of an enigma in the sherry world – a happy accident originating in the production of Fino or Amontillado sherries. The team were attracted to the idea of stumbling across perfection, and  by the idea of bringing Spanish casks back to west Wales, much as they might have been back in the nineteenth century when New Quay was an important a port on the trade routes.
