Job Description
Deli & Cafe Team Member

Blas ar Fwyd is a Deli and Cafe on the high street in Llanrwst since 1988. Our Deli has hundreds of Welsh, Artisan and Local foods as well as classic ingredients from further a field. We also have a busy lunchtime trade with many regular customers.

Due to Covid-19 and a flooding in 2020 our Cafe is currently operating as a Wine Shop and will continue as such until later in 2021.

We have 2 openings for Team Members. These roles can be full time or part time, with full or half days - please get in touch for details.

These are varied customer facing roles working within a retail team at Blas ar Fwyd. The Deli is open 9 until 5:30, from Monday to Saturday.

Full Time and Part Time hours available.

Shifts can be accommodated to work with childcare/school hours with no weekend or evening shifts.

The Deli is Covid safe, masks required to be worn by Team Members and members of the public in addition to protective screens on counters in both the Deli and the Wine Shop

The Ideal Candidate is:

  • professional, courteous and able to quickly build rapport with customers

  • with a knowledge of fine food and/or wine beneficial although full training can be given

  • able to communicate clearly and confidently

  • good team members

  • ideally comfortable speaking Welsh and English

The Team Responsibilities Include:

  • Working in the Deli, Wine shop and Café Bar (Amser Da) and serving customers

  • Helping to prepare food and drinks for customers, for example sandwiches over a busy lunch time

  • Advising customers about products and being confident in making product recommendations

  • Using the EPOS till, updating product records for selling

  • Engagement with customers on social media and playing a proactive part in developing marketing initiatives and newsletter ideas

  • Restocking of foods, drinks, beers and wines

  • Identifying wines, beers and spirits required for shipping from the warehouse and stocking them onto shelves on arrival

  • Merchandising Stock appropriately

  • Taking telephone orders for local customers

  • Manage the visual appearance of the Deli & Wine Shop

  • Ensuring that goods are rotated and handled with care to minimise damages

  • Complying fully with food hygiene and health and safety requirements at all times

  • Ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness are adhered to at all times

  • Being responsible for accurate cashing up at the end of the day

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent Salary: From £9.00 per hour

COVID-19 considerations: Conducting interviews via Zoom, hand sanitiser on site, screens between staff and customers, on site mask policy
