Penderyn Whisky - great Welsh whiskies, from Wales to the world
In a pub in Hirwaun in South Wales in the 1990s, a group of friends talked of setting up a Welsh whisky distillery and in 2004, on St David’s Day, the first whisky distillery in Wales for over a century opened in the village of Penderyn, close to a supply of fresh natural spring water and using a unique single-pot whisky still producing a 92% ABV spirit.
Since then, Penderyn have won over 70 Double Gold/Gold/Masters awards and gained a worldwide reputation for their whiskies.
Penderyn use the best American oak bourbon casks and today have a superb range of skilfully distilled whiskies, as well as a range of other spirits that include Brecon Gins, Five Premium Vodkas (distilled five times for maximum purity) and Merlyn Cream Liqueur.
